Meet your SLP
Megan Wirth, M.S. CCC-SLP
Hi there! I'm Megan, a speech language pathologist who has a passion for utilizing child-centered and play-based therapy to develop connection and communication skills with all of my clients.
I earned my M.S. in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and my B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
I have been fortunate enough to work across various settings including in public schools, acute care and outpatient clinics, and home health care. I have worked with clients all across the life-span! I am currently a full-time speech pathologist at a local public school. Due to this, I have limited availability during the school year and I only offer sessions after the school day and on Saturdays upon request.
The best part of my job is building relationships with my clients and their families and supporting goals that they are excited about!
When I created my private practice, the name “Embrace” came easily for me: my intention is to embrace your child as they are and provide the support and individualized tools they need to become a successful communicator.
Within My Practice I Embrace:
-
Neurodiversity refers to a neurological (brain) diversity, and is frequently utilized when talking about autistic or ADHD traits.
I provide therapy that is flexible and responsive to my clients' needs and communication preferences.
I believe all forms of communication are valid and important! This includes:
Verbal communication
Nonverbal communication
AAC devices
And more!
I am also training in providing therapy for Gestalt Language Processors.
-
This includes utilizing your child’s favorite interests: specific toys, movie characters, movements, etc. for functional (and fun!) learning experiences to increase their communication abilities.
-
This includes focusing on your child’s personal strengths, utilizing their interests, and making each session individualized and motivating for your child.
-
When we connect with children, they feel secure and safe. Security allows children to take risks, make mistakes, and persevere. This leads to learning new skills and trusting themselves!
-
I collaborate with all of my parents and any other team members a child may have to best support their needs. Let’s learn and support your child together to help them grow!
